Wild & Free — Marjorie Towers

Wild & Free

March 15, 2014

in Design Team, Jacki

Here’s a great layout by Design Team member Jacki Rettke:

march blog 1

I love the watercolor look of the papers in this set.

Supplies used:

Glitz Designs Wild and Free papers:

Arrows, Horses, Small Hearts, Dream Catcher, Drips

Glitz Designs Wild and Free Large Rhinestones

Tim Holtz Rosette Dies

Kiwi Lane template

die cutting machine

foam adhesive

glue dots

hot glue gun

Use two of Glitz Designs Wild and Free Dreamcatcher paper for backgrounds

Fussy cut Glitz Designs Wild and Free Drips paper along the drip line.

march blog 3

Trim a strip 3 X 12 inches from the edge of Drip paper

Using foam adhesive, mount remaining fussy cut piece of Drip paper to Dreamcatcher paper, (covering up the dreamcatcher), and make this the top of your right hand page.

Mount 3 X 12 iinch Drips piece to other Dreamcatcher paper, also covering the dreamcatcher.

Using the backside of the Arrows paper, cut using the Kiwi lane template, both pieces.

From the Horses paper, cut 4 ½ inch by 12 strips.

From the Small Hearts paper, cut two pieces 1 ½ X 12 inches.

Also from the Small Hearts paper, cut out the hearts in a rainbow of colors, I have 10 hearts per page.

From the Horses paper, cut 2 2-inch strips and run through the die cutting machine using the Tim Holtz Rosettes die, I used both sizes of die.

Form rosettes using glue gun and add large rhinestones to centers.

march blog 2

Mount Small Hearts paper between the Gray side of the Horses paper and add inked hearts with foam adhesive down the middles (I had the left side going vertical and the right side horizontal.)

Attach the curved pieces, right against the bottom edge on the right hand page, with the drips coming from the top edge. Mount it peeking under the vertical heart strip on the left side.

Mount the horizontal hearts strip over the curved pattern on the right side, up slightly so the color from the curved piece shows at the bottom edge.

Add more Large rhinestones to heart strips as desired.

Attach rosettes along left side.

We have these papers and the awesome rhinestones in the store.  And Jacki’s layout is also there for you to see in person. Hope you get a chance to stop by and take a look!
